Finnish AI Startup Nimble Fox Launches Its Unity Game-Development Platform Worldwide

Finnish AI Game Development Startup Nimble Fox Launches Globally

Helsinki, Finland — 31 August 2026Nimble Fox, the Helsinki-based AI startup backed by Sisu Game Ventures, Wave Ventures, and First Fellow Partners, is taking its AI platform for Unity global. From 7 September 2026, developers and studios worldwide can create and modify Unity games by prompting directly inside the game engine, with both free and paid plans available at launch.

The company is simultaneously introducing the technology to US game studios, with founder and CEO Jonne Myöhänen currently in San Francisco meeting developers through the Silta Program as part of the platform’s US market entry.

From side project to funded startup

Nimble Fox began as a side project after Myöhänen grew frustrated with how long it took to turn a game idea into something playable. The project became a company after he won Aalto Entrepreneurship Society’s Ignite accelerator program in autumn 2025 — a win that unlocked a funding round, a six-person full-time team in Helsinki, and an R&D grant from Business Finland to support further product development.

“I had a lot of ideas for games, but I didn’t want to spend months just prototyping them,” said Myöhänen. “I started building Nimble Fox as a faster creative outlet for game development.”

AI aimed at real game-development bottlenecks

Rather than generating an entire game at once, Nimble Fox lets developers build feature by feature — implementing gameplay mechanics, UI flows, and other scoped changes one at a time. Built directly into the Unity editor, the tool understands the context of an existing project and makes changes through natural-language prompts, working with the code, art, and assets already in place or generating what’s missing when needed.

The product is being developed around the workflows that cost studios the most time, targeting areas where AI can reduce manual work without taking creative control away from developers.

“We see a much bigger opportunity than AI simply generating code,” said Myöhänen. “The useful part is having AI do the necessary work across the Unity project to turn a request into something that actually works in the game, rather than just writing code.”

Public launch and expansion into game studios

As Nimble Fox prepares for its public launch, the company is also exploring dedicated versions of the product for larger games. These versions are configured specifically for individual titles: Nimble Fox can take a feature request and implement a working first version directly in a studio’s Unity project, freeing developers to focus on gameplay, polish, and design. The roadmap will continue to be shaped by customer needs, feedback, and the workflows where the technology creates the most value.

Ahead of the release, Nimble Fox is hosting Nimble Game Jam on 4–6 September — a 48-hour hybrid event in Helsinki and online. Participants get free access to Nimble Fox during the jam to build games over one weekend. The jury includes Samuli Syvähuoko, Jonne Taivassalo, and Ignacio Amaya.
