Hyperion Robotics Raises $7.4M to Scale AI-Powered Microfactories for Europe’s Infrastructure Boom

ESPOO, Finland, July 16, 2026 — Hyperion Robotics, a fast-rising physical AI company redefining how infrastructure is designed and built, has secured $7.4 million in growth funding to expand its network of robotic microfactories across Europe. The round was co-led by Course Corrected and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, with participation from RE Ventures (Romande Energie Group), alongside existing investors Lifeline Ventures, Übermorgen Ventures, and PC Rettig Impact & Co.

The funding comes at a critical moment for Europe, as aging infrastructure systems collide with rising demand for energy, water, and data center capacity—creating one of the largest infrastructure renewal cycles in decades.

A Shift From Construction to Manufacturing

Hyperion Robotics is positioning itself at the center of this transformation by turning infrastructure into a digitally manufactured product rather than a traditional, labor-intensive construction process.

Its robotic microfactories—deployed close to project sites—enable:

  • Up to 3x faster production of infrastructure components
  • Cost reductions of up to 50%
  • Up to 70% lower CO₂ emissions
  • Up to 75% less material usage compared to conventional methods

This localized, factory-based approach reduces logistics complexity while improving consistency and scalability—key advantages in a sector long plagued by delays and cost overruns.

At the core of Hyperion’s technology is Forge, a proprietary software platform that integrates design, structural engineering, compliance, robotics, and factory operations into a unified system.

This “physical AI” layer enables automated decision-making across the production lifecycle, effectively bridging the gap between digital design and real-world construction.

“We’ve already built some of the most efficient concrete structures in the world,” said Fernando De los Rios, CEO of Hyperion Robotics.

“With this funding, we are moving to full-scale delivery through factories located next to the projects they serve. Europe simply doesn’t have the time, labor, or budget for construction to continue as it has. Physical AI is how we close that gap.”

First UK Microfactory Launch Confirmed

As part of its expansion, Hyperion will launch its first UK facility, Forge I, in Flixborough near Scunthorpe in partnership with LKAB.

The site will manufacture infrastructure components for high-growth sectors including:

This move signals Hyperion’s entry into one of Europe’s most active infrastructure markets, where demand for scalable, low-carbon solutions is rapidly accelerating.

Investors see Hyperion as a category-defining company at the intersection of construction, robotics, and climate technology.

With total funding now approaching $20 million, Hyperion is transitioning from project-based delivery to industrial-scale manufacturing. The company already works with major infrastructure players, including National Grid, Costain, Mott MacDonald Bentley, Anglian Water, and United Utilities.
