With regulatory approvals in hand, the French company launches Zyogreen, a ready-to-use indocyanine green dye, in the United States and Britain, betting that simpler formulations will reshape operating rooms.

MARSEILLE, France, September 24, 2026 — For decades, surgeons have relied on indocyanine green, a dye that glows under near-infrared light, to illuminate blood vessels, bile ducts and other anatomical structures during operations. But the dye has long come with a cumbersome ritual: it must be reconstituted from a powder before use, a step that consumes time and introduces room for error in the high-stakes choreography of the operating room.

On Thursday, Provepharm, a French pharmaceutical company that has spent nearly 30 years developing medical dyes, said it had received regulatory approval in the United States and Britain to sell a version of the dye that requires no such preparation. The product, called Zyogreen, is a sterile, ready-to-use solution of indocyanine green — the first fluorescence imaging product to emerge from the company’s scientific platform.

The commercial launches in the two countries mark Provepharm’s entry into the fluorescence imaging market, a field that has gained momentum as hospitals seek tools to make minimally invasive surgery more precise. The company said it is preparing additional regulatory submissions across Europe and other international markets, with further launches planned from 2027.

“We are proud to launch Zyogreen in the United States and the United Kingdom, marking Provepharm’s entry into fluorescence imaging,” Hélène Thomas, the company’s deputy chief executive, said in a statement. “Designed to enhance ease of use and reliability, Zyogreen reflects our commitment to providing healthcare professionals with high-quality, innovative dyes that support clinical practice.”

The move positions Provepharm alongside larger competitors in the surgical visualization market, where the demand for precision medicine has fueled rapid growth. More than two million units of indocyanine green were estimated to be used worldwide in 2025, according to IQVIA, and the market has grown at an annual rate of roughly 16 percent over the past three years. In the United States alone, the market was valued at approximately $128 million for the twelve months ended in July 2026, IQVIA data show.

For Provepharm, Zyogreen represents the third new dye molecule the company has introduced, following Provayblue, a methylene blue injection, and Bludigo, an indigo carmine injection. The company says the addition strengthens a portfolio that is unique in the industry and underscores its commitment to advancing surgical visualization.

The product’s chief selling point is simplicity. By eliminating the reconstitution step required with currently available indocyanine green dyes, Zyogreen is designed to streamline operating room workflows. It also removes the lyophilization, or freeze-drying, step from manufacturing, which the company says helps ease supply chain pressures as demand for the dye grows.

“With its ready-to-use formulation, Zyogreen is a major patented innovation emerging from Provepharm’s research and development expertise,” said Michel Feraud, the company’s chief executive and founder. “These commercial launches represent an important step in our long-term vision to develop innovative visualization solutions that help shape the future of minimally invasive surgery and patient care worldwide.”

In Britain, Provepharm will commercialize Zyogreen directly through its UK subsidiary and a dedicated commercial team. In the United States, the company is relying on its strategic partner, Sagent Pharmaceuticals, which already distributes Bludigo in the American hospital market.

Provepharm said its commercial approach in both markets is intended to remain closely aligned with evolving market dynamics and the needs of healthcare professionals. By combining a differentiated ready-to-use formulation with local commercial expertise, the company aims to establish Zyogreen as a reference product in indocyanine green fluorescence imaging.

The company, which operates in 27 countries, said it will continue executing its international growth strategy, with additional market launches planned from 2027. Approved indications and product availability may vary by country.
