Cambridge, UK, July 15, 2026 — Novogene Europe is deepening its presence in the region’s life sciences sector with the launch of a new untargeted metabolomics service at its Cambridge Omics Centre, a move that strengthens the company’s position as a full-spectrum multiomics partner.
The new offering from Novogene Europe is designed to help researchers bridge a persistent gap in biological research: connecting molecular data to real-world biological function. By adding metabolite-level insight to existing genomics, transcriptomics, and microbiome analysis, Novogene Europe aims to enable a more complete understanding of complex biological systems across academic, biotech, and biopharma research.
Untargeted metabolomics, a discovery-driven approach, allows scientists to profile small molecules that more directly reflect phenotype. This layer of analysis is increasingly critical as research shifts toward understanding disease mechanisms, treatment response, and biomarker discovery in a more integrated way.

At the core of the Novogene Europe platform is a high-resolution liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry workflow built on Thermo Scientific Vanquish UHPLC and Orbitrap Exploris 120 technology. Combined with an extensive reference library, the system delivers high-accuracy metabolite profiling across a wide range of biological sample types, positioning Novogene Europe to support increasingly complex, data-intensive research demands.
The launch marks the first step in a broader expansion of capabilities at the Cambridge Omics Centre, located within the Bio-Innovation Centre—one of the UK’s most established hubs for life sciences and technology. For Novogene Europe, metabolomics represents a strategic addition to its multiomics portfolio, linking upstream molecular signals with downstream biochemical activity.

“Novogene Europe is responding to a clear shift in research needs,” said Tingting Zhou, Vice President of Novogene Europe.
“As scientific questions become more complex, researchers require integrated datasets that connect genomic and transcriptomic information with functional biochemical insight. Metabolomics provides that critical link.”
Zhou added that the launch reflects Novogene Europe’s evolution beyond sequencing services into a broader, end-to-end multiomics partner, offering support from experimental design through to bioinformatics and biological interpretation.
The expansion also coincides with Novogene’s 15th anniversary, underscoring the company’s long-term investment in European research infrastructure and its commitment to supporting scientific innovation at scale.

David Chaplin, General Manager of the Bio-Innovation Centre, emphasized the significance of the development within the Cambridge ecosystem.
“Novogene Europe’s continued investment strengthens access to advanced omics capabilities, which are essential for companies and researchers operating at the forefront of biological discovery,” he said.
With the addition of untargeted metabolomics, Novogene Europe is positioning itself at the center of a growing demand for integrated, multi-layered biological analysis—an approach increasingly seen as essential for translating data into actionable scientific insight.
