The Power of the MEPP Ring
At the core of Kore Italia’s innovation is the MEPP ring – a heat recovery system designed for use in ceramic furnaces. The genius behind the MEPP ring lies in its ability to transfer heat directly from the furnace to a fluid in a liquid state, primarily water. This process takes place within the cooling zone of the oven, where the heat would otherwise go to waste after the baking process.
The MEPP system features an automatic regulation mechanism equipped with safety and control elements. This allows for precise adjustment of the heat removed by each individual exchanger, preventing excessive cooling of the tile and averting critical temperature and pressure situations.
Integration and Adaptability
Kore Italia’s MEPP system is built with adaptability in mind. The delivery and return distribution ring, made of insulated steel tube, connects all the exchangers with the available utilities, enabling its application in multiple ovens simultaneously. To manage excess heat in the event of shutdowns or partializations of utilities, a dry-cooler is installed externally on the main return pipe.
The system’s design is non-intrusive to existing air cooling systems in the ovens. It can also be integrated with heat recovery from exhaust fumes, with the addition of a flue gas/water exchanger, for further enhancement of heat recovery.
